Try to expand this as much as possible. Even if you don't speak the language, but have some Serbian in you, join us. This is a place where we can bring our culture together outside of our native country.

The primary question would have to be: who is bringing the shlivovitza?

Ja imam bocu slivovice koju sam kupio u beogradu u 2002. You can buy slivovica in liquor stores in the U.S. too. It used to be that the only kind I could find in Portland was from Zadar, but I guess the company had some troubles and now there are a couple different kinds.

Dobar Dan! Nisam ja srpski, ali sam pola Hrvatica. Mogu govoriti... Hrvatski. To je sta sam rekla moju cijelu zivot. Ali svi znamo da Hrvatski i Srpski su jako slicno. Although with more time, there are more differences. Anyway, Hi. I just thought I'd get on the Serb tribe to see what I could learn.

One thing that I've always found interesting was that Serbs stereotypically seem to be more Roma (Gypsy) friendly... is that true? It seems to mostly come through in the music (to me at least), lots of brass and lots of wildly good tunes. Macedonia too. Does anyone have any insight as to how that is so? Croatian music has little to none of this influence which I think is too bad, I really dig that stuff.

I would fall into the last category. I Do not speak the language, though I studied some Zcech at one time, which I understand very well has nothing ner the poetic quality of Serbian. Even the zcech has left me at this point as any language does without practice.
I am quarter Serbian, would love to meet some other people in my are who share this background.

and yes...I realize that the original post was made in 2003.

I am a fine artist, working in oils and inkwash, where I at one time made most of my own inks.
I love in portland, there you go.
